about

I am an experienced Runner having been running regularly since 2014, and I became a Qualified Running Coach in 2019. I am insured to coach through England Athletics and have also successfully completed the online First Aid Essentials in Sport & Active Leisure course through UK Athletics.

Outside of Running, I love to Travel, watch Sports (mainly Football) and spend time with Family and Friends. I got married in 2024 and I became a Dad to my son in Feb 2025.

You can read more about my personal running "story" below, and at the bottom of the page is a link to a blog post I have done which has more info on Improve Your Run and how I got in to Running.

Running Coach

Up until about age 25, I had always preferred playing Sports such as Football & Tennis, than doing Running as a hobby. After dislocating my knee playing Football I decided in 2014 to give running a go properly and I got 20:34 at my first Park Run at Heaton Park in Manchester. Despite trying over and over again, I didn't break 20 mins at Park Run until nearly 3 years later in 2017.

Even though I am in my mid 30's I still feel that there are many years ahead for me to run well, and achieving PB's in the various distances is what motivates me the most.

One of the great things about Running compared to Sports like Football, is that when you reach 30 in Football you are written off as too old, whereas there are many runners I know who are achieving their best times in distance events well in to their 40's. I also know people who are running very well in their 50's and even early 60's!

Until recently, my main running focus has been the 800m on the track, but now I am older my focus will move towards improving my times at 5K up to the Marathon. I have ran sub 18 minutes at Park Run on one occasion and just missed out on a sub 3 hour Marathon in Seville by 33 seconds, so these are 2 events that I will be aiming to improve in over the next few years.
